Let Me Explain How I Got Scammed Out of $1,000!

It’s been a while since I made an LMEM post and what better way to come back then to write about how I got screwed. Let’s dive right in…

In an effort to earn some much needed money, I went into a joint venture with someone I met online. He promised money everyday, starting with day 1, and like an idiot I jumped all over the offer.

He would have me use my personal eBay account to post listings for his services and my personal PayPal account to accept funds on his behalf. In exchange for using me as a middleman, he cut me in 20%. I’d keep my 20% on PayPal and he had me switch out his cut for BTC, an untraceable cryptocurrency.

He delivered what he promised everyday for over a month. But disputes on PayPal started to happen. I confronted him about it and he said he’d cover the costs but never did. More disputes came in. I contacted him again and that’s when I learned I was scammed.
The name he was using was fake and because he had me use my personal accounts, I have no information on this guy. This means I can’t file a police report or appeal the PayPal disputes because I have no information that leads anywhere.

It has been a month since I last heard from the guy, not for lack of me trying, so I’m sure he will not be covering any of the costs. After putting in paychecks and selling all of my assets in BTC, I am still struggling to pay the remaining $1,010.75.

With all of my bills piling up, this is stressing me out more than I can emotionally handle. I feel like I’ve exhausted all of my resources and I’m just lost. I don’t know what else to do.

I went ahead and created a GoFundMe page in case anyone was feeling sorry for me. No luck yet. I’m hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. I guess I’m really just expecting a miracle. If you can, please help me out. ANY amount helps.
